With over 25 years of experience in the musculoskeletal field, Dr Mark Loman brings a unique and highly specialised skillset to the Mid-North Coast community.
He holds qualifications in both General Practice and Physiotherapy, offering a well-rounded, evidence-based approach to pain relief and recovery.
Dr Loman’s career began with a passion for sports science and physiotherapy, earning an honours degree in Physiotherapy before working for seven years as a Senior Physiotherapist in both private and public practice.
Mark embarked on further studies to pursue a career in Medicine, graduating from the prestigious Newcastle University, UK in 2008. After graduation he gained experience at major teaching hospitals in the UK, including Cambridge University- Addenbrookes Hospital. Career highlights during this period included working as Physiotherapist for the U20’s Yorkshire Counties Rugby team with Dr Andy Smith (World Rugby, Medical Compliance Manager) which won the “National County Championship” at Twickenham, England 2002/3, 2003/04 seasons.
In his early career Mark has presented both nationally and internationally on Orthopaedic topics in addition to publishing in peer reviewed journals. He also played Rugby Union at a county, club and national schoolboy level during his early years. In 2000 he successfully competed in the London Marathon and has subsequently run in a number of half Marathons. He has developed a deep understanding of the physical demands placed on athletes.
